Tour Description:

We’ll head out from Castro to Chepu where we’ll get familiar with the basics of handling our kayak and try out our safety equipment. After this we´ll spend 3 hours kayaking through submerged temperate rain forests that boast an abundance of bird life, among other flora and fauna – all associated with this wet temperate ecosystem – .

Afterwards we’ll travel along a secondary road to the western coast of the island to the Natural Monument of “Puñihuil Islets”, for a boat trip around the three nesting grounds of both, the Humboldt and Magellan’s Penguin colonies. Large groups of marine bird species also contribute to the spectacle.

We’ll return to the beach just in time to relish some typical Chilote fare at lunchtime. At the evening, we’ll head back to Castro.

NOTE: Kayak & equipment’s are delivered by the company Ecolodge Chepu Adventures. The boating services are delivered by the company Bahía puñihuil that provides boat trip services to Chiloetnico.
